ODM leader Raila Odinga says former Nyanza province can register equivalent number of voters to those in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Central Kenya region.
Odinga further says that opposition strongholds can produce majority of representatives in Senate, National Assembly and county assemblies across the country.
The veteran leader also urged leaders from traditional ODM strongholds to mobilize their constituents to register as voters in the ongoing mass voter listing.
“Do not be cheated by the so called tyranny of numbers because Nyanza alone is capable of recording figures equivalent or more than the number registered in Central Kenya,” he told his followers in Kisii.
“We are even capable of producing majority of representatives in parliament and County Assemblies. What we need to do is mobilizing of constituents to register in numbers if at all we want to win,” he added.
He also urged ODM aspirants to conduct smooth campaigns ahead of nominations, insisting that the party will hold free and fair primaries.
He was speaking in Gesima ward (Nyamira) and Kisii town on Thursday during a voter mobilization campaigns that also targeted Migori County.
