ODM leader Raila Odinga and Kisii governor James Ongwae are set to unveil Joash Maangi as Ongwae’s running mate on Wednesday.

Maangi, the current deputy governor had  joined Jubilee team and even worked as  regional coordinator in presidential campaigns before decamping again to ODM.

Last year October, Maangi was expelled from the Orange party by disciplinary committee due to his closeness to Deputy President William Ruto, a decision which he understandably appealed.

“Basically it will be a function in which Maangi will be unveiled as Deputy to Ongwae after many months of speculation,” said a source familiar to plans on the rally.

“They settled on him after many months of dialogue. He is ideal given that he hails from Bomachoge clan.”

Early this year, Odinga also welcomed from ambassador to UN-Habitat Sam Ongeri and was given a direct ticket for senatorial position.

Before rejoining ODM, Maangi had even announced his bid to run against Ongwae in August elections.
