Raila Odinga overshadowed the funeral of former Nyeri Governor Dr. Wahome Gakuru today at Kigumo High School.
Jubilee politicians present could not resist the temptation to refer to him.
Even though the speakers did not mention him by name, it was all too clear for all and sundry who was being referred to.
Governor Sonko bemoaned the violence and deaths that marred Odinga's arrival into the country yesterday.
He urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to deal firmly with him.
''Yesterday you saw what happened in Nairobi. Mr. President don't allow this country to go to the sewers under your watch. Kenyans are looking at you.'' The flamboyant Nairobi governor said.
The Deputy President William Ruto also criticised Odinga heavily for what he called ''politics of death and destruction''.
''We will not allow this country to go down the slippery route of chaos, and bloodshed, and sectarianism. Politics of division will not take anybody anywhere. The people who think that they can use violence, chaos, and intimidation to further their political agenda, we want to tell them that they will not succeed. The whims of one person or a group of people will not change the constitutional dictates of Kenya...'' DP Ruto said.
