ODM leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday urged Bomet residents to give Governor Isaac Rutto a final term in office.
With stiff resistance from Sotik MP Joyce Laboso, Odinga hailed Rutto as a true defendant of devolution and warned that devolved governance could be curtailed should they fail to elect Rutto.
“My brother Isaac has been working so hard to ensure devolution works. Those fighting him are enemies of devolution and are the same people who have failed to embrace the idea,” he said during a rally at Ndanai.
He further said: “I plead with you to give him a chance and I am certain that he will do great things. We need his energy when NASA forms government.”
In South Rift region, Odinga is banking on Rutto, who has since backed his NASA coalition but will be defending his seat on CCM party.
The outspoken governor has been at loggerheads with DP William Ruto whom he accuses of dictatorship and general mismanagement of government.
