Opposition leader Raila Odinga has been accused of plotting to declare himself president and proceed to Tanzania for subsequent swearing in ceremony.
Although he has not been unveiled as NASA flag bearer, sources within the coalition intimate that Odinga was the preferred candidate by a technical committee formed few months ago.
And Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu) and his Gatundu counterpart Moses Kuria on Sunday claimed that Odinga’s plans were at an advanced stage.
“We know he is working with some foreigners to declare himself as president and proceed for a swearing in ceremony in Tanzania,” Kimani said.
“He will lose to Uhuru Kenyatta and that is why he is desperate to do the unimaginable. We can’t allow him to breach the law at all costs,” added Kamau during a rally at Tharaka Nithi.
IEBC had earlier allowed the opposition to set a parallel tallying centre to monitor results ahead of August but warned them against declaring results.
The move has sparked a heated debate that has seen a host of MPs allied to Jubilee administration rejecting the request adding that Odinga’s team was breaching the law.
