Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen now says that opposition leader Raila Odinga deserves more privileges as the leader of the alternative government.

Speaking while accompanying the National Super Alliance (NASA) co-leader for a funeral service in Chebai, Elgeyo Marakwet county on Saturday, the Senate Minority Leader vowed to lay out foundations to for the realization of the same.

He announced plans to table a motion in the Senate to allocate more privileges to the veteran leader, stressing on the need for the establishment of an official opposition leader office from where Odinga can serve.

He also announced plans to further beef up the security around the veteran politician.

"It is important that we allocate Raila Odinga an office from where he can serve from. We will also ensure that he is well receives all the privileges he deserves, including tightening his security," said Murkomen.

Coming only days after Odinga reached a peace agreement with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Murkomen hailed the same observing that its a demonstration of the veteran leader's desire for a better Kenya.

He expressed hopes that the truce will achieve it's intended aim, calling upon national leaders to join the band wagon in the pursuit of national cohesion.

"Our brother Raila extended a hand of friendship to President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee fraternity and we are committed to ensuring that the pact is respected," added the Senator.
