Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga says Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party will carry out free and fair nominations countrywide.
Odinga was speaking in Kisii barely a week after three top ODM officials defected to KNC on grounds that the party had preferred candidates.
Deputy Secretary General Bernard Nyamoko and Deputy Treasurer Callen Magara are among top officials who joined KNC.
"I ask all aspirants to work together as a team. Candidates who win nominations will be given ticket unconditionally," Odinga said.
He added: "We have learnt from mistakes and I don't think we will repeat it again. Nominations will be free and fair."
Kisii Governor has been under immense criticism with several party members accusing him of having preferred ODM candidates.
Also present during a meeting that saw aspirants in various positions attend at Ufanisi resort were party chairman John Mbadi and Director of Election Board Judy Pareno.
