Orange Democratic Movement Party may 'deny' nomination certificates to party offiacials who may be found culpable of doing badly in the ongoing mass voter registrations.
Statistics from electoral body IEBC shows that a number of counties from perceived ODM strongholds have registered low figures since the exercise started.
In a statement issued by party national chairman John Mbadi, the party is concerned with little effort put by its key leaders in voter mobilisation.
"We halted membership registration to pave way for voter sensitization but still our areas are doing badly. We have intelligence that a number of party officials and delegates are not bothered," he said.
Mbadi added: "We will penalise those who may be found culpable and actually, we may be forced to deny them nomination certificates should they win in primaries."
Odinga and other opposition leaders have been moving around the country urging their supporters to register in numbers ahead of August elections.
