Opposition leader Raila Odinga led a highly charged NASA team in responding fresh plot by Jubilee to tame the Supreme Court through parliament.
In response to the recent ruling that nullified President Uhuru’s Kenyatta’s victory, Jubilee MPs have vowed to amend various laws to tame the Supreme Court.
At Kangemi on Sunday, Odinga warned that Kenya shall rise up and ensure the constitution is defended with ‘all means’.
“I hear they now want to tame powers of the Supreme Court. That is the worst hypocrisy that we shall not allow,” he said.
“We cannot allow that and we shall you all means to ensure that does not happen. Independent institutions must be respected less we go for a referendum,” he added.
Similar calls were made by MPs Chris Wamalwa (Kiminini), John Mbadi (Suba South), George Aladwa (Makadara) and Women Representative for Nairobi Esther Passaris.
Maraga and three other judges made history by becoming the first people to overturn election of a president in Africa.
