Opposition leader Raila Odinga claims President Uhuru Kenyatta is hiding in Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu to sabotage judiciary.
On Thursday, Wambugu filed a petition that seeks to remove Chief Justice David Maraga, a suit which has been dismissed by a section of Jubilee legislators.
But in a statement read by NASA chief campaigner Musalia Mudavadi, Odinga reads mischief in the petition adding that it is a wider scheme to frustrate many election cases pending in court.
“Jubilee is now hiding from its own MP who has shown intention of frustrating the judiciary. They are planning to sabotage the courts before conclusion of a host of cases.
“Uhuru Kenyatta should own the case because it has emanated from an MP who takes instructions from him. This is witch hunt that is unacceptable,” he said.
In a number of public gatherings, Uhuru has maintained that he will continue questioning the suitability of Maraga and the team.
Moments after the petition, a section of Gusii MPs allied to Jubilee dismissed the petition thus declaring it dead on arrival.
