ODM leader Raila Odinga says Kenya’s current political crisis was choreographed by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party following the death of Chris Msando, the man in charge of technology at IEBC.

Giving blow by blow accounts in the country during a presentation at the Centre for Strategic and International Affairs on Thursday in US, Odinga said the government was keen to sabotage credible polls.

“The reign of terror against the electoral body started with the torture and murder of Chris Msando,” said Odinga, adding that US has abandoned opposition’s question for free and fair elections.

Msando, the man in charge of technology, died under mysterious circumstances moments to August elections and his death remains unresolved until now.

He further said that Msando’s death could have been overcome had the authorities responded to his security concerns having reported to the police.

“He had received death threats and sought police protection but all in vain. This is where our elections were messed.”

One of the reasons why August elections were nullified is alleged tampering of ICT systems of the commission in which NASA accused Jubilee of hacking the IEBC system.

Notably, the electoral body declined the order by the Supreme Court to grant all parties in the petition a Read Only Access to the servers.
