Opposition leader Raila Odinga is set to welcome Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto to the National Super Alliance outfit as August polls near.
Rutto, a chief critic of Jubilee administration, on Tuesday said his Chama Cha Mashinani Party will support NASA due to ‘complimentary’ political ideologies.
“We have agreed with NASA. It will be in exchange for the top seat,” he told a local Radio adding that NASA would in return withdraw its candidates in Bomet, Narok and Nakuru counties.
The Bomet county boss added: “It is time Kalenjins forgive Raila Odinga and forge a common philosophy of working together. What did he do that cannot be forgiven?” he said.
Edwin Kimeto, an elder had earlier told the Star that a huge public rally will be held in Bomet on Saturday where Rutto is expected to announce the pact with NASA.
“We shall make a key declaration as a community. It will be a culmination of timeframe we offered CMM and NASA leadership,” said Kimeto adding that Odinga would be the chief guest during the event.
The simmering political temperatures in South Rift region, a home turf of DP William Rutto, are precipitated by diminishing relationship between Bomet Governor and the DP.
