Politics is a game full of arithmetic. You can decide to go for a direct kill or wait for someone else to hunt then you share the catch.
This is the case with Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga’s young sister Ruth Odinga. The deputy governor to the incumbent Jack Ranguma quit the gubernatorial race and has announced that she is ready to deputize anyone who will win the ODM ticket.
Raila’s sister announced her continued dedication to serve as the deputy governor. She has failed to pay the required Sh 2500 female nomination fee confirming her withdrawal from the contest.
Those eying the seat through ODM are the sitting governor Jack Ranguma, Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o, Gordon Wayumba and businessman Hezron Mc’Obewa. They will battle it out during the primaries to determine who will be the next governor or see Ranguma get a second term considering the dominance of ODM in Kisumu.
Odinga also faulted Infotrack pollster for messing up data to grant her a low popularity rating when there were rumors of her gubernatorial bid. She claimed that the alteration was intentionally done to influence voters.
It is not clear if Governor Ranguma will still pick her as his deputy after her attacks on him.
