A furius president Uhuru Kenyatta has yet again challenged his main opponent Raila Odinga to quit politics to avoid embarrassing defeat in August.
Arguably the top politicians of their age, the two are set to face each other again in slightly over one month’s time in what is projected to be a bruising battle.
And on Thursday in Nyeri, Uhuru dismissed claims that he is afraid of the opposition leader adding that he will send him to retire.
“This old man is ever disturbing peace and I have told him several times that he should retire. I do not want to embarrass him.
“As government, I am ready to take care of him during his retire. I want to remind him that I can never be afraid of his divisive politics and if it goes on like this, I will send him to political oblivion,” said Uhuru.
The president and his deputy William Ruto were consolidating their support in central Kenya, a region considered to be their stronghold.
Uhuru is set to attend a series of rallies in the Eastern Mt. Kenya region just a week after Odinga traversed Meru and Tharaka Nithi Counties.
