Hours after jetting out of the country for a public lecture at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, opposition leader Raila Odinga has prayed with the leader of Anglican Church in London.
Odinga is expected to jet back to the country on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s rally at Mama Ngina Drive in Mombasa.
And on his Facebook, Odinga revealed that he prayed with Archbishop Justin Welby of Canterbury and the leader of Anglican Church.
“Spiritual guidance is of utmost importance at this juncture in our nation’s history,” read the message, perhaps in reference to current political impasse in Kenya.
The message further said;” I value greatly wise counsel that Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury and the principal leader of Anglican Church, imparted when I paid him a courtesy call.”
Spokesman Dennis Onyango had revealed that the ODM leader earlier met ex – British Prime Minister Gordon Brown in an off camera meeting.
He withdrew from the presidential race, a move which a section of legal experts claim that will trigger constitutional uncertainty in the country.
