ODM leader Raila Odinga now says President Uhuru Kenyatta brokered a deal with French IT Company OT – Morpho during his days as Finance Minister.
Opposition NASA has linked the company with alleged hackling of presidential results in the nullified August 8 presidential elections.
On Wednesday, Odinga distanced himself from the controversial company, shifting blames to Uhuru and IEBC.
“Uhuru and IEBC proposed the company and as PM, with time not on our side, we approved it to provide technological support prior to 2013 elections.
“I was not part of single sourcing and that is what they fail to tell us. Despite the anomalies detected in 2013, they still single – sourced the company despite our grievances,” he said.
Despite the controversy surrounding transmission of results, IEBC has maintained that the company will still provide the necessary technology for repeat polls.
But a relentless opposition says Kenya will not go to elections should the company’s contract stand before elections.
