Cord leader Raila Odinga has taken his voter hunt to one of Jubilee’s stronghold, visiting the voter rich Meru County.
During the tour, Odinga told the Meru residents that he intends to help them in getting a share of the national cake, accusing Jubilee of inequalities in sharing of national resources.
He also told the residents to stop believing that he (Odinga) is an enemy of what Jubilee has achieved over the years.
Odinga, who also sought to sensitise the locals on the importance of registering as voters, urged the locals to work with him in order to help put back the country back to the path of development that will impact on their lives.
"I wonder what I have done to be branded as the enemy of the people from this region. I am closer to you. Don't be cheated," he said.
He further accused the Jubilee administration of aiding corruption and unequal distribution of resources.
“When I was their boss in the Grand Coalition government, work was being done and Kenyans saw this. I used to task them," he said.
"Now that I am no longer there, they can’t work," Raila added, further reiterating calls for peace ahead of the August 8 general election.
"Jubilee is just using the divide and rule method to cause tension in the country. I cannot be an enemy of Meru. That is negative propaganda," Raila said.
The ODM leader also took a swipe at Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi, who recently defected from ODM to Jubilee.
According to Odinga, he helped Aburi from a near zero level political background and made himan MP, only for him to desert the party.
“When he was elected, the people knew he was in ODM. Now he has moved to Uhuru because of personal (stomach) interests," Raila said.
