Opposition Chief Raila Odinga says Deputy president William Ruto is ‘politically’ confused, adding that he spends more time attacking the opposition than solving the problems facing the country.
In another swipe directed to DP, Odinga maintains that opposition’s intention to seek power is informed by incompetence of Jubilee leadership.
“The basic reason why we are competing for power is to get an opportunity to clear Jubilee mess that has been created for the last four years,” Odinga said when addressing a section of Jubilee party defectors on Thursday at Orange House.
Mr Odinga further said Ruto should quit if he is not ready to compete: “You spend most time talking about opposition yet Jubilee is full of shortcomings. He should give us a break or quit politics.”
Ruto, who has been at loggerheads with opposition leaders, on Wednesday, slammed formation of National Super Alliance, terming it a waste of time.
“We have been waiting for a major announcement by these people only to hear that they are talking of sharing power. They have nothing new to offer,” he said while in the coast.
Although the opposition team is yet to reveal how it will share powers should they take over, sources indicate that they will create a Chief Minister post, which shall be taken by one of the principals.
