Opposition leader Raila Odinga will serve as a one term president should he be nominated NASA flag bearer and subsequently win August elections, indicates detailed reporter by James Orengo led committee on NASA’s choice of flag bearer.
Although the team is yet to endorse or reject proposals by National Coordinating Committee, they are however set to go for a retreat in Kilifi where they will make a determination.
The report also endorses former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Raila’s running mate and a creation of Premier Secretary, a powerful position in the running of government for Musalia Mudavadi.
A member of NCC also reveals to the writer that Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula has been offered a powerful Ministry should NASA constitute government.
Last week, cracks emerged in the NASA coalition after nominated senator and ODM Secretary General Agnes Zani confirmed that a leaked lineup was in deed authentic, a move which caused jitters among the supporters of both Mudavadi and Musyoka.
Having had three unsuccessful attempts for presidency, August’s elections could be Odinga’s final stab at presidency.
According to political analyst Dismas Mokua, a transitional Presidency would allow Odinga streamline government before retiring as a first term president.
