Few weeks after he was isolated during Madaraka Day celebrations in Nyeri, ODM leader Raila Odinga is set for a two days tour to the region perceive to be President Uhuru Kenyatta’s stronghold.

Contrary to the expectations of many, Odinga was snubbed by the country’s top leadership, an incident which led to public outcry.

But the resilient Odinga is scheduled to hold a couple on hall meeting in Laikipia and Nyeri Counties on Friday where he will target local leaders.

And on Saturday, in unlikely schedule, Odinga along with other NASA leaders will visit Kiambu, Home County to Kenyatta before addressing a rally at Thika town.

Although he may not make as many trips in the region, Odinga is said to be keen to make inroads in Mt. Kenya region in the counties of Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi.

To make significant inroads, Odinga has appointed Isaac Kindiki, brother to Senate Majority Leader Kithure Kindiki to lead his campaigns in the region.
