Opposition leader Raila Odinga says he only needs a day to dismantle President Uhuru Kenyatta’s influence in Gusii.
Uhuru will hold a series of rallies in Nyamira and Kisii Counties on Thursday, a month after nullification of his victory by the Supreme Court.
And after holding a meeting with a section of Gusii professionals on Wednesday, Odinga said he will eventually tour the region and overturn Uhuru’s perceived fortunes.
“He will call table meeting and attend rallies in Kisii but I will trounce him badly. He cannot win Gusii and he is pretty aware of that.
“I only need a day to quash him completely. He knows that Kisii is strongly in NASA and that has been the case for over a decade,” he said.
Official IEBC results show that Uhuru beat Odinga in Nyamira County despite losing in the overall vote tally in Gusii region.
NASA on his part has appointed Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati to coordinate campaigns in the vote rich region.
