Two North Rift MPs now says ex – Prime Minister Raila Odinga is keen to sabotage the country economically since he ‘has nothing to lose’.
Odinga, 72, is embroiled in a tough tussle with electoral body IEBC over the date for presidential repeat polls, setting certain conditions that are yet to be fulfilled.
At Uasin Gishu on Saturday, Oscar Sudi (Kapsaret) and Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills) urged the veteran leader to ‘have mercy on Kenyans’.
“I respect Baba (Raila Odinga) and I wish to challenge him to allow us go for an election. Businesses are coming to stand still as investors’ cast’s doubts on our local politics,” Keter said.
Sudi, a close ally of DP William Ruto added:”He is a force in our country and we recognize that. Let him just agree with the Supreme Court and allow elections to take place.”
Among the significant changes Odinga wants executed is depositing of IEBC chief executive Ezra Chiloba, a host of junior officials and cancellation of tender awarded to a Dubai based company.
If the conditions are not met, he says, and then the country will not have elections, a move that could lead to an inevitable constitutional crisis.
