Migori County ODM Governorship competition could be far from over after former Rongo MP Ochillo Ayacko declared himself the winner of Monday’s elections.

Earlier, the ODM County Elections board had declared Governor Okoth Obado winner of the hotly contested polls after garnering over 110,000 votes to Ayacko 59,000.

But a furious Ayacko has since denounced the outcome and announced results in which he is a clear winner at least according to statists presented.

In his remarks, Ayacko accused the ODM Elections board of allegedly meddling in the exercise and vowed to take them head-on.

“The provisional results we have collected from all polling stations show that my competitor has lost badly. We have the figures and we shall demand for the ticket,” said the former energy Minister.

In his victory speech however, Okoth Obado reiterated that he had won in a free and fair manner adding that his competitors were free to work with him.

“I beat them squarely and I only expect them to concede defeat so that we can worker together as a team,” he said.

A few weeks ago, the county witnessed skirmishes in which supporters allied to Obado confronted those of Mr. Ayacko.

Both players are allies of ODM leader and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who is due to be declared NASA flag bearer.
