Nominated MP Oburu Odinga has further complicated the IEBC stalemate after suggesting that the commissioners should be arrested once they leave the office for mismanaging the 2013 elections.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission commissioners had already agreed to quit office even before their term in office ends in November 2017 on condition that all allegations against them are dropped and they are accorded a "dignified" send-off package.
On Sunday, August, 7, Oburu said the IEBC bosses should be held accountable for allegedly mismanaging the 2013 general elections.
The nominated MP's stand could further complicate the move of ousting the commissioners given that they had sighted immunity from prosecution as one of the conditions to leave office.
The government is expected to cough Sh330 million as send-off perks for the commissioners.
