A visibly agitated opposition leader Raila Odinga dismissed recent endorsement of his challenger, Uhuru Kenyatta by Ex-Tanzanian Prime Minister Edward Lowasa.
In 2015, the CHADEMA leader lost to CCM’s President John Magufuli in a fierce battle after the retirement of Jakaya Kikwete.
While addressing mourners at Kajiado during the burial of Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery, Lowassa backed the leadership of Kenyatta adding that he deserved a reelection.
“He is coming all the way from Tanzania to back a corrupt regime, He as well knows that this country is sinking and wants to lecture us,” He said during a rally at Ekerenyo.
His co-principal Musalia Mudavadi added: “Lowassa should spare us his theatrics and he should know that he lost elections. He should leave Kenyans to vote in peace.”
Although he did not win the elections, Lowassa claimed that he had been rigged by Magufuli, a close ally of Odinga.
On several occasions, Odinga has never hesitated to praise Magufuli’s style of leadership and even promise at times to emulate him if elected
