Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga has warned ‘cartels’ in Orange house against ‘unfair’ intimidation of women aspirants citing Elizabeth Ongoro’s woes as case study.

The former Kasarani MP on Wednesday accused ODM officials of unfairly targeting her after she was barred from running for Ruaraka parliamentary seat.

The opposition sister’s youngest sister said the Orange party would not be allowed to mistreat female aspirants adding that the incident could wreck the party.

“It is quite unfair that some cartels in Orange House are targeting women aspirants who can lift the name of the party.

“Let them be warned that this party cannot be run like someone’s Kiosk. Let them know that women of this country cannot condone unfair treatment of women more so what they have subjected Ongoro to,” she added.

Having been banned from Ruaraka race and subsequently given option to run for Nairobi Women Representative or senate seat, Ongoro protested the move on Wednesday accusing her opponent T.J Kajwang of bias.

However, it is understood that the two leaders resolved to battle out in nominations after ODM leader Raila Odinga prevailed NEB.
