For the first time in as many years, opposition leader Raila Odinga has pointed an accusing finger to US and Britain over what he terms as 'meddling' of Kenya's internal affairs.
A group of diplomats from the west had on Monday given the Thursday's eelction a clean bill of health despite the opposition's concerns.
"IEBC chairman has said he is not able to conduct a free and fair poll and I wonder what kind of elections US and Britain are talking about," said a visibly agitated Odinga.
Earlier on Tuesday, lawyer James Orengo, a notable figure in Kenya's liberation politics, accused the west of double speak adding that the opposition was readyto soldier on.
And Odinga, who has already bolted out of the race citing lack of reforms in the IEBC demanded that the West keeps off Kenya's internal affairs.
"The problem which we have been thrown to can only be solved by Kenyans and not outsiders. They should stop meddling in our politics," said Odinga.
Although Donald Trump and Theresa May of Britain have not come open about Kenyan crisis, they have however communicated through their embassies in the country.
It is not the first time Odinga questions the role of western diplomats given that he accused them of validating August elections which was annulled by Supreme Court.
A divided IEBC is facing both external and internal issues with Chebukati openly blaming unnamed commissioners of sabotaging him.
