Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has written to all party MPs, tasking them to facilitate voter registration in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) strongholds.
Odinga is expected to Ran against President Uhuru Kenyatta in his fourth attempt to win presidency next year.
In a letter seen by the reporter, Odinga gave projections of expected potential voters in his strongholds, urging the leaders to mobilize young people to register.
“I am writing to you as OD MP and to remind you of the tough test ahead of us. We have potential youths who haven’t registered and those are people we should target,” he said.
“Kindly carry out voter mobilization to bring those youths on board. We can achieve those targets if we commit ourselves. Voter registration is continuous,” he added.
According to Director of Communication Philip Etale, the same copy was sent to party’s governors, senators and MCAs.
“It is true that we are committed to ensure more people register in our strongholds. The Party Leader also sent similar letter to all elected leaders,” he said.
