Opposition leader Raila Odinga will certainly be in the 2022 presidential contest.

The National Super Alliance (NASA) chief has openly demonstrated this, hence his recently-launched series of reconciliations with other leaders, the latest one being retired, President Daniel Moi.

The former Premier has remained lively in active politics and in absolute control of his Orange Democratic Party (ODM), sufficient proof that he is not willing to let go of his presidential ambition just yet.

He is, however, yet to name his possible running-mate list, with latest happenings pointing at his possible combination with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

His recent visit to Gideon's father, Daniel Moi, is not to be taken lightly, considering that the two have never been in good terms following Odinga's woes and detention during Moi's regime.

Odinga will be banking on Gideon to assist him in incapacitating the high-flying Deputy President William Ruto in the vote-rich Rift Valley region.

The Senator, on the other hand, is not only willing but also ready to take up the position as he seeks to later receive Odinga's backing and proceed to occupy the seat which was under his father for 24 years, while at the same time hitting back at Ruto whom he has never been in good political terms with.

Also on the list is Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who is also keen on getting a way out of his expiring gubernatorial term.

Joho's huge support in the Coast region and appeal among the youth will obviously hand the veteran leader a win should they ride on a joint ticket.

The county chief has always remained loyal to Odinga, reducing chances of betrayal in the future and has since announced his ambitions for the top post and will, therefore, be readily willing to take up the post which will increase his chances of becoming President in the future.

Kakamega Governor will also perfectly fit in the position and will be a good weapon against the rebelling Western Kenya duo of Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.

Just like Joho, the vocal leader deputizes Odinga in ODM and is very likely to be tipped to deputize him in the race for statehouse as well.

He also comes with a mammoth support base from the region, numbers that if added to Odinga's and that of his other allies and point-men, will be a direct win.

With any of these powerful politicians beside him, Odinga will be assured of a victory.
