Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has dismissed claims that he supports reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

On Sunday, Onyonka was quoted by a local paper that he urged his constituent to back Uhuru over his NASA leader Raila Odinga.

But a furious Onyonka accused his opponents of witch-hunt and maintained that he supports the election of Odinga.

“I didn’t go to Iranda to be on any side. I went for a church function that was held by Jubilee. The church asked me specifically not to antagonize their guests,” he said on a message to the reporter.

He added: “I did that successfully and I said publically that I support NASA and Odinga. I do not have to burn Jubilee T-shirts to justify that.”

Onyonka is the head of opposition NASA campaigns in Kisii County and has been leading rallies across the region.

On record, the outspoken legislator has been having issues with a section of ODM leaders who he accuses of boxing him out of the party.
