ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale has dismissed claims that he instigated violence against journalists who are believed to be pro-government.
Elgeyo-Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen and State House Digital Communication Director Dennis Itumbi had linked him to the unprecedented incident outside Wiper House on Tuesday.
"My heart is very heavy that I can help my friend Francis Gachuri then the likes of Murkomen and Itumbi link me with the attack," he wrote on his Facebook.
Two journalists were attacked by unidentified goons moments before opposition leader Raila Odinga made his remarks about the recently concluded elections.
Etale said: "I am one of the first people to arrive at the scene and even condemned the incident. It is unfair to draw me to such incidents."
"I was brought up with good morals and it is unfair to taint my name. I however pray that the truth comes out," he said.
ODM Treasurer Timothy Bosire, formally Kitutu Masaba MP was among the first people to condemn the incident.
On his part, through his spokesman Dennis Onyango, Odinga demanded quick investigations to bring attackers to book.
