Ford Kenya candidate for Kitutu Chache South Richard Onyonka may win Tuesday's mini poll, a non profitable survey group, Gusii Network Company has revealed.
A titanic battle is expected among Onyonka, ODM's Sam Omwando and Jubilee's Antony Kibagendi with also inclusion of other minor candidates.
On Monday, the Company's data manager James Kerina said opinion polls conducted last week shows that Onyonka will emerge winner in the tightly contested race.
"It is quite tight but Onyonka seems appealing to middle and old aged voters, who apparently participate in the polls.
"Youths are divided between Omwando and Kibagendi but previous records show that only insignificant number that vote," he further said.
Of the 600 sample population, Onyonka garnered 43 percent with Omwando coming second with 24 percent. Kibagendi scored 17 percent.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga has since backed the Ford Kenya candidate at the expense of his ODM candidate.
Prior to his defection to Ford Kenya, Onyonka served in the last parliament as ODM member and was among close confidants of Odinga.
