Former ODM financier Don Bosco Gichana was yet again rearrested by Tanzanian authorities moments after being acquitted by the High Court over alleged money laundering, reports the Nation.
For over four years now, the flamboyant businessman has been detained by the neighboring government authorities with the state failing to prosecute the alleged charges.
" We had already packed our belongings ready to take off to Kenya immediately we were set free," he said.
At the Arusha prison, Gichana is being held along with his colleagues Median Mwale, Boniface Mwimbwa and Elias Ndejembi.
But last Tuesday, the four were rearrested by the police minutes after being released following n application by the state prosecutors for nolle prosequi.
"He was arrested 300 meters from the court when trying to ran away. It has become a habit that they get released and get rearrested after few minutes," added a relative who had attended court .
Gichana, who unsuccessfully ran for Kitutu Chache South seat in 2013, came into limelight when he donated a red Hammer for Odinga's campaigns in 2007.
Although his case is multinational, Raila Odinga has made efforts before including meeting President Pombe Magufuli to have him released but the move is yet to materialize.
