The opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has maintained that himself and his running mate in the August 8 Presidential poll Kalonzo Musyoka will take the oath of office as President and Deputy on January 30.

Speaking in Kakamega County on Sunday, during a joint inauguration of the People's Assembly for the 5 Western region counties of Kakamega, Busia, Trans Nzoia, Vihiga and Bungoma, the former Prime Minister assured his supporters that the event which has since been postponed twice will not be pushed forward for the third time.

''We are going to keep our word and be sworn in as President and deputy on January 30. We will not bark off and the event has to happen on the mentioned date. We will not postpone it again,'' said Odinga.

He also once again rubbished warnings from Attorney General Githu Muigai who had earlier cautioned that the move will result to treason which is punishable by death.

Muigai had pointed out that Kenya already has a President democratically elected and inaugurated according to the constitution, barring any other person from declaring himself head of state.

However, according to the Orange Party leader, Muigai's claims are baseless, maintaining that the alliance won and that it is only through its tenure that the nation can be led back to the path of electoral sanity.

''We are tired of rigged elections and are out to bring the habit to a halt. We will not cowed with threats of being hang. If dying is the only remedy for Kenyans' vote to count then we are ready to die,'' he added.
