Siaya governorship ODM primaries may be far from over despite declaration of incumbent Amoth Rasanga as outright winner.
With controversy also surrounding four Luo Nyanza counties in governorship, opposition leader Raila Odinga could be forced into high level consultations to avert a looming crisis.
And having nullified governorship results in Migori and Homabay, the ODM NEB will also have to rule of Kisumu results where both Anyang’ Nyong’o and Jack Ranguma were declared winners.
But in Siaya, Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo, who also lost in nominations, has accused his cousin Oburu Oginga of shortchanging rightful winners.
“We know Oburu has engineered all this results but the will of people ought to be respected. We are not going to allow people make decisions in kitchen,” he said.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Nicholas Gumbo, who lost to Rasanga and subsequently termed the exercise as a mock of democracy.
“The people of Siaya must be respected. We do not care who you are but the victory of people must be respected,” he said.
Provisional results as announced by Returning Officer, Rasanga emerged winner having scooped 143,000 votes over Gumbo’s 87,000.
