At least all voters in Teso North and Teso South constituencies voted in Thursday’s ODM primaries if the results released by County Elections Board are upheld, claims political analyst Dismas Mokua.
Although the ODM NEB has since nullified gubernatorial contest results, shocking figures that helped Governor Sospeter Ojamoong to have a slight advantage over his competitor Paul Otuoma could haunt former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Figures released by Mr. Otuoma showed that virtually all Teso residents are in ODM and voted in Thursday’s exercise.
“It is shocking that Teso North and South constituencies could have 100 percent voter turnout,” said Mokua adding that the scenario is impossible.
He added: “It is impossible that all votes are registered with ODM party and none missed. That not even one has died since registration or was away during voting.”
Odinga, a fierce critic of IEBC had initially warned the electoral body that he won’t allow a scenario where ‘dead’ voters wake up and vote as a justification for rigging.
And in Busia, the ODM leader’s remarks haunted his own party even though the results have since been nullified.
For instance, Ojamoong and Otuoma scored a total of 47,000 votes in Teso South, an indication that over 100 percent people voted.
Teso South MP Mary Emase and her Teso North counterpart Arthur Odera are in Jubilee party having won on URP ticket in 2013.
