Kenya's opposition leader Raila Odinga has left a message for Kenyans as the join Christians across the world in celebrating Easter.
Easter, also called Resurrection Sunday, is a festival and holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial after his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD.
It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus, preceded by Lent, a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance.
Odinga who pledged to unite, bury political hatchet and work with his political nemesis President Uhuru Kenyatta, wished Kenyans Lord's blessings.
"Happy Easter to all Kenyans from all walks of life. From my family to yours, I wish you the Lord's blessings," said Odinga on Friday morning.
