A source privy to the National Super Alliance operations says that opposition leader Raila Odinga will be moving to Supreme Court this week to seek for removal of his name from ballot papers.
IEBC has already printed Odinga’s name despite his last shock move to withdraw from October 26th elections.
Guided by interpretation of the Supreme Court ruling of 2013, the source says Odinga will question the legitimacy of inclusion of other candidates in the polls and his subsequent withdrawal.
“The court ruling was clear that only the petitioner goes for a fresh poll and if he or she withdraws, fresh nominations will be called,’ said the source, who spoke in confidence.
The source further said: “He will move to Supreme Court to seek interpretation and that will happen before the elections.”
Although he has not publically revealed his next move, Odinga is synonymous with last minute surprises with the latest coming when he challenged Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory in Supreme Court.
He maintains that he will not be part of the elections until fundamental reforms are executed within the electoral body IEBC.
