Veteran lawyer Pheroze Nowrojee’s legal prowess was once again manifested in the final submissions in the Supreme Court during the rejoinders by the petitioners.
Raila Odinga had hired a number of renowned lawyers to prosecute his case that challenges reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Although quiet throughout the proceedings, maybe busy with paper work, Nowrojee, a lawyer of Indian Origin was perfect to wrap up the case.
“He is accurate, simple and concise in his submissions. Less of technicalities and more inclined to the constitution and various legislations’,” says Gideon Mamboleo.
He adds: “it was game plan to have him dwell on constitutionality of elections by poking holes in the entire process from transmission, collation of results and final declaration and I think he added something unique.”
In their submissions, the petitioners wants Uhuru’s reelection invalidated on grounds that IEBC forged a number of documents besides failing to adhere to various election statutes.
Also in the legal team includes James Orengo, former Ombudsman Otiende Amollo and Nyamira Senator Okong’o Mogeni.
