A phone call from NASA leader Raila Odinga to co - Principal Moses Wetangula last Friday has caused a major rift in the opposition coalition ahead of Tuesday's repeat poll in Kitutu Chache South.

Despite ODM fielding a candidate, Odinga openly backed Ford Kenya's Richard Onyonka, a move that has not gone down well with three other contestants.

"We came with an agreement that we support one strong candidate and we must also vote as one unit so that we can defeat Jubilee," he said on a phone call.

But aspirants allied to NASA coalition have dismissed the call adding that it could not be trusted given that Odinga has not come out open.

" I spoke to Kalonzo Musyoka who is in Germany and told me that they have not reached such an agreement," said Andrew Maubi, a Wiper candidate.

His ANC counterpart Justus Mochoge added: "What I know, Musalia Mudavadi is not aware of the endorsement. I will go ahead and deliver the seat."

But the biggest loser is Sam Omwando, the ODM candidate who has however dismissed the call adding that he will bank on his supporters.
