ODM leader Raila Odinga has been warned against meddling with local politics and instead urged to concentrate on campaigning for his presidential bid.
Over the weekend, Odinga urged party supporters to voter in the traditional six piece method that will see all ODM nominees win their seats.
But a section of disgruntled losers have accused Odinga of trying to influence voting pattern despite keeping mum during primaries.
“We respect Odinga and we are working to deliver his presidency. However, we are worried that he doesn’t want Independents given that we were bungled by the party,” said Ochillo Ayacko in Migori on Monday.
“It is important that he goes for presidency. It is wrong for him to dictate people on whom to vote,” added Homabay governorship aspirant Oyugi Magwanga.
Despite Odinga rejecting Independents, Jubilee team led by President Uhuru Kenyatta has vowed to incorporate them in its activities.
Hundreds of candidates especially from ODM strongholds have since joined the race as independents after accusing the party of bungling primaries.
