NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga took campaigns to his Luo Nyanza strongholds with a strong appeal of high voter turnout.
IEBC records show that regions perceived to be Odinga’s strongholds have often struggled with low voter turnout hence sabotaging his quest for presidency.
At Oyugis, Odinga said the Luo community will only see progressive development if the elect sober leadership to power.
“It's only through good leadership that you can see progressive development. You first seek power and the rest comes automatically,” he said.
And while addressing a mammoth crowd at Homabay town, Odinga urged his supporters to throng into polling stations to make a decisive decision.
“Ensure that you don’t sleep during the material day. This is the only chance we have to bring prosperity to all Kenyans. Let us show them that we can as well defeat them in voter turnout.”
He also urged ODM candidates to lead smooth campaigns by allowing their competitors to compete in a free and fair atmosphere.
