Jakoyo Midiwo, the opposition Deputy Minority Leader in National Assembly, has dismissed ODM primaries in Siaya County as ‘comedy at its best in Hollywood’, an indication that he will not concede.
The third term legislator and a fierce defender of ODM leader Raila Odinga, who is also a first cousin, had initially accused unnamed people of ‘personalizing’ the exercise.
But provisional results as announced by the officer in charge, Enosh Odhiambo, a perennial critic of the Gem MP , scooped slightly over 13,000 votes to Midiwo’s 8, 000.
“This was comedy at its highest level because my own tallying, which is credible shows otherwise. The Elections board is compromised and was after some leaders,” said Midiwo in an interview with KTN.
He added: “I want to remain cool because I have been in this game for a long time. Eventually, the will of the people shall be respected.”
Although it’s not clear what step he will take, Midiwo, could subject the result to NEB which he has previously discredited.
His first scathing attack to the ODM party came during Busia governorship controversy where he accused the party of favouring Sospeter Ojamoong.
