ODM chairman John Mbadi has termed reports suggesting that party leader Raila Odinga will back another candidate as cheap propaganda spread by Jubilee through National Intelligence service.

According to Mbadi , Jubilee is using NIS to confuse Kenyans that Odinga will support a Kalonzo Musyoka - Musalia Mudavadi ticket during the next general election.

"We are aware of the NIS schemes on this matter and the fake opinion polls calling for Raila's early retirement. I can confirm to you that currently we have not had any discussions and settled on our preferred presidential flagbearer," Mbadi is quoted by Nation.

However, Mbadi has not ruled out the possibility of having Mudavadi and Kalonzo representing the opposition in a bid to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta during the 2017 polls.

"We cannot, however, rule out discussions with Mudavadi because he is a key player. He has not yet joined Cord and therefore it is not right to say we have settled on him as our candidate," added Mbadi.

According to Mbadi, the rising popularity of Odinga had scared the Jubilee coalition which was desperate in ensuring the popularity is reduced.

The Cord leader has been traversing the country in a bid to market the opposition ahead of the 2017 polls.
