Nairobi governor Dr Evans Kidero had a rough time when angry ODM aspirants faulted him for allegedly losing touch with the residents.

Politicians eyeing different elective posts told Kidero he had forgotten the plight of his people and it was hard to access him during his term in office.

According to the aspirants, Kidero ceased to be a man of the people after 2013 election as he surrounds himself with security officers.

On Tuesday, he accompanied ODM party leader Raila Odinga to a meeting with the party aspirants at the Nyayo Stadium, where the leaders took a swipe at him.

Harambee ward aspirant Paul Ogolla said the governor only saw the need to tour some parts of the County when he realised elections were nearing.

''Dr Kidero came to my garage in Ngara when he was new in Nairobi and I took him around asking for votes but after he was elected, he stopped interacting with us,'' he said.

Kidero however vowed to keep in-touch with them.
