The Raila Odinga led party will conduct primaries in February, six months before the 2017 general election.

The party’s National Elections Board has also said that any party official eyeing an elective seat must step down by January 4.

NEB chairperson Judy Pareno said several aspirants were interested in ODM tickets, including those from perceived Jubilee Party strongholds.

“We are still assessing and compiling the applications and the process is ongoing. We still don’t have a final document but what we can conform is that we have an increase in the number of applications compared to last election,” Pareno said, as quoted by the Standard.
