ODM disciplinary committee has moved to punish members involved in chaos that were recently witnessed in the party's run-up to primaries that started Thursday.
Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro was fined Sh1 million and asked to contest in an alternative constituency aside from Ruaraka where she was planning to fight it out with the current MP TJ Kajwang.
The committee also told her to tender a public apology to the party and ODM executive director Oduor Ong'wen who was manhandled by youths said to be Ongoro's supporters.
Last week, the senator stormed Orange House in company of youths and complained that the party had given a direct nomination to Kajwang and denied her the chance to vie for the seat.
She has seven days to comply with the disciplinary committee failure to which the party will disqualify her from contesting.
