Top ODM Party officials in Bondo have cautioned the party's grassroots officials against campaigning for independent candidates, warning that they will get replaced should they fail to toe the line.
Led by Nominated MP Oburu Odinga and Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda, the two challenged the grassroots officials to instead rally support for ODM Party candidates who won tickets during the primaries.
The duo argued that NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga will need numbers both in the county assembly and parliament to implement government policies should he win the presidency during the August polls.
“I know some of the members and party officials were deeply hurt after their preferred aspirants failed to secure tickets but in any competition there is always a winner and a loser,” Ochanda, who is also the Bondo ODM Secretary said on Friday.
He further pledged to hold a reconciliatory meeting aimed at ensuring that the party consolidates its support base in the region.
