Nyamira County boss John Nyagarama now wants governors across the country and local leaders to reconcile their differences.
In an article on a local daily, Nyagarama, who is serving his second term on ODM ticket, said local leaders should emulate President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.
"The golden handshake between our two protagonists should not be taken for granted," he said, adding that similar show should be replicated in counties.
For development to be realized, he adds, local leaders from warring political parties, should organise joint tours to bring together their supporters.
"The same hate is deeply rooted in our counties. This is the perfect opportunity to solve these issues," he added.
While details of Raila-Uhuru MoU are yet to be revealed, both political heavyweights have pledged to work together.
Their differences escalated in the long protracted electioneering period that saw Uhuru's victory nullified by the Supreme Court.
