Raila Odinga's ODM party is not keen to have Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka making a comeback to parliament before 2022 elections, reports the Sunday Nation.
Despite Wiper dismissing reports that Kalonzo may join Kitui West parliamentary race, a number of Wiper leaders are said to be backing the move.
But a source who spoke to the Nation in confidence said ODM does not support the move on grounds that it may be forced to make sacrifices in parliamentary leadership.
"It will be internal injustice to the ODM party now that we have to relinquish the Minority leadership to him," said the source.
He further said: "ODM has made a lot of sacrifices within NASA and I don't think we can advise him to go for parliamentary elections."
The seat was left vacant by Francis Nyenze who is set to be laid to rest on Tuesday in his rural home.
Should Kalonzo heed to calls to join parliament, then he will automatically transact business on behalf of NASA in the house.
Similar calls were made to Raila Odinga in 2014 when Otieno Kajwang died by the opposition leader declined the offer.
